Merry Xmas To Me...

You may recall that a few seasons ago I bought one of those tiny, slippery little cameras that could go everywhere and do anything... except stay in your pocket when hovering over rushing water! Yep, I flushed it when it wasn't even a week old! It died immediately, resuscitation efforts were for naught.

So, a bit later I rewarded myself with an iPhone and figured the camera that came with it was all I deserved. Talk about a slippery little devil! I wrapped it in leather casing complete with clip... or sometimes wear it tethered to my waist... believe me, it's handled with care, especially around water!

But the old Sony just wasn't able to take up the slack in the studio... professionally, I do need a decent camera. Plus, it's 3x zoom couldn't reach the g-kids swimming or boating in the lake well beneath our perch on the lakehouse deck.

So... considerable research later (like toilet paper and shampoo, too much to choose from!) I narrowed my search and finalized with the Panasonic Lumix FZ28. I think I made a good choice, it's light weight but won't fit in my pocket ;-) Has an 18x zoom and is given high marks in all the online reviews. Am anxious to take it out and see what it will do. Important to me will be ease of use and so far the learning curve looks doable. Extra kids here next week so I'll have lots of subject matter!
