Blowing In The Wind...

Busy time around here... waved goodbye to the second big group of family visitors this month and word came that more may be in town next weekend. Well, that's the idea behind the lake house... a gathering place for summer fun for family and friends. No complaints here at all...

However... two deadlines loom for fall and early winter. First, featured artist status in Atlanta gallery in November, then I've been given an opportunity to put together a retrospective at an art center right after Xmas. More about this later but I'm looking forward to finding unfettered time to give it some deep thought. I'll be pulling favorite pieces from my own collection (read: neat stuff from past series that didn't sell) and will have new work as well. Ideas are taking shape...

These two venues will keep me busy in the studio for the next few months... but first... the rest of summer...

Oh... try on this Thomas Friedman NYTimes article for size... makes sense to me. Jiving with these thoughts, a good read is the book, "Three Cups Of Tea: One Man's Mission To Promote Peace... One School At A Time."

Sorry I haven't commented for awhile, but sheesh, your life looks good. That hair is priceless. (As well as the knowing smirk underneath). Paint that! Or rather, mimic that timelessness with puddles of pigment. Looking forward to the retrospective break-down and limits.

Paint? Me? Like... when? But the idea of doing something outside my self-drawn square IS appealing! Good to hear from you, Steven...

Wow, your life's gonna continue to be exciting for a while! I'll enjoy hearing about it. Those kiddos are the coolest.

(Hey, check out my blog header today. Hope I don't have to leave it up for long.)
