Procrastination...

Of all my many 'sins' PROCRASTINATION tops the list. For all my life, this has been the most difficult affliction to conquer. I consider the big P and LAZINESS as evil twins, if one exists it's because of the other. Now, this may not be true in real life, but it seems to be in mine. The L word was tossed frequently in my direction as I was growing up (Hey! South Florida with no air conditioning equals slow motion!) I prefer the P word as it seems to forgive so much. Not as much guilt as the L word implies.

This forward is simply to say that I'll be blogging again soon... I've mentally created several well thought out entries but have yet to put them to keyboard. You'll probably miss the charming nuances, long forgotten in their recreated forms, but I'll at least have downloaded a big bunch of pics and selected a few favorites so you won't miss much.

Enough to say I've done dozens of 'hill repeats' at the lakehouse and that's impressive, if you didn't know. I can just about make it all the way up the stairs... without my walking stick... and in the afternoon (sometimes)... in one continuous motion! Anyone who had climbed those 54 steep ones knows of what I brag! Consequently... it's going to take a few days to recover...

Also during this absentee time, I've driven to NOLA twice (at progressively slower speeds as a test to see if I could stand it and if I saved any real quantity of gas... yes to both) and had a really fun week with four kids and a dog... all offering adventure... again, a bit more recovery time...

And not to forget... J has started a super human (at our age) project of building a deck next to the boathouse so tender young feet and the old stumbling versions can trod unmolested... just getting the lumber down there is a project in itself... recovery is ongoing...

So... there you have the picture... certainly not LAZINESS to blame... but blog PROCRASTINATION to be sure... later my friends...

I have been thinking about P and L lately too. One thing that came to mind this past week is the "hierarchy" involved in procrastination. I will let the unwashed dishes sit forever until I have to vacuum the house. In other words, I hate vacuuming MORE than I hate washing dishes.
The same goes for my art. I will gladly start painting on a long forgotten, unfinished piece of work instead of putting hooks and wires on the backs of others. It is like a P and L game of which task do I dread LEAST! LOL LOL
Great post!!

Like with art, I don't think there are hard and fast rules concerning art blogging. I've missed your posts - but good art and good blogging sometimes takes time. Thanks for the great post on procrastination in the meantime.
