Beauty...

I don't know why or how this happened.

It makes me sad, but I am totally captivated by it's beauty.

oh my....incredible photograph with so many layers of meaning as we look at it. Who knows what happened? I work as a naturalist/educator and find things like this on occasion with kids....it's always sad, a little amazing and wondrous, too, to see such creatures close up.

We have large windows and sometimes birds fly into them. Mostly they are just stunned, and I love looking out at the intricate beauty before they come to and fly off. Other times unfortunately they die from the impact.

So much has serendipitously come together in your beautiful photograph.

The rain added another layer of interpretation to the scene as well, and intensified the colors. It's a palette I want to use but will have to mull over. Olga, there's only a small window tucked under the carport that is anywhere near the robin's resting place... it's possible that's the cause. I've been warned not to touch dead birds since they may carry disease, though this one sure looked in prime health. I left it there for nature to devour... will check on it when we return to the lake. I'd love to have the skeleton but doubt it will be left undisturbed.

Oh wow. Stumbling across this image on your blog, I think I feel how you must have felt as you stumbled across this scene. Yes, sad and captivating. Arrestingly beautiful.
