Construct 1 & 2, each 48x24, 2007
Completed before Santa Fe trip, an attempt to break out of the grid but retain the motivation.

She said: Hey, Hon, did you happen to use my rubber mallet while I was gone?

He said: Yep. And by the way, it's MY rubber mallet.

She said (with a grin:) Well, I was hoping you'd let that part slide... do you know where it is?

He said: Yep, in the back of my van.

And there it was, neatly tucked in with all the movable tools that go back and forth to the lake house. We share well... he often has need of my big plastic right angle, which is as necessary to stretching canvases as 'his' rubber mallet. The trick is keeping track of them. His toy box or mine?

Trying to get a good supply of canvases stretched, gessoed and ready to fill with pure inspiration. I need to have the bulk of the show lined up before Easter. I've had a couple of good work days, but tomorrow... it's off to the lake we go!

I had something really important to say about your relationship and breaking out of the grid, but then you son's avatar kept changing. How did you do that joe?

great stuff, Karen ... really like 'em. I think the second one is my favourite ... those splashes of red and turquoise are the biz.
