Buried myself in the studio yesterday, the 36" sq canvases had been stretched and gessoed the day before and I started layering colors in early morn while still in slippers and robe. The day progressed and I rediscovered painting paths unused in nearly a year. I don't claim these paintings to be masterpieces, but I'm happy that they appeared when called. I don't usually finish even one painting this quickly, prefering lots of contemplation time between layers, rearranging the composition like the living room furniture... try it this way, try it that... Don't know if they'll fill the bill, jpgs have been sent, the client needed them yesterday, best I can do with a busy holiday week opening up. If they aren't approved, I'll probably rearrange the furniture again... that's just me.

And you do it up, so well Karen! I always know instantly when I love a painting and in this case, I love your triplets! The aqua is very interesting with the ocre and the red. I'm so madly in love with your ruled lines!
This style of yours is my favorite. Now doing several at the same time is a great idea. (Having the space would be an issue.)
Hold those good thoughts with fingers crossed! Johnnie, I seldom work a single piece, I always have several on-going, but not usually all in the same state of development. This time it worked, but I don't know that I'd want to work so "productively" all the time. Nice to know that it can happen, however.
Meant to say, Jacie, that you can use my ruler any time... but your energetic work doesn't need it ;-)
Sometimes when there is no time to think marvellous things happen quickly - these are a delight. They immediately made me think of your recent watercolours.
Good point, Omega. Probably why deadlines are so important or I'd be rearranging the compositions until the cows came home... or whatever ;-) I caught a nuance of the watercolors as well after I'd viewed them digitally. Funny...

you're reminding me of me! Nice paintings. Although I love the B series (I feel like I was there when it was born) this "old" style still grabs me.
Oh and Karen, regarding the housecoat and slippers. One time R came home from work and discovered me in my pyjamas, with a Cherrio(s)stuck to the front of my shirt. Ha!
